Nail Art & Optical Illusions

I have always been interested in optical illusions and I thought it would be a good idea to attempt a optical illusion for my next nail art. I decided to play around with perspective to give my nails a 3D effect.

For this manicure you will need black and white nail varnish and some nail tape.



1. First paint your nail with a basecoat to protect your nail and them paint it black.
2. Once dry place three strips of nail art tape on your nail in a 'fan' shape.
3. Then add three more strips horizontallly across your nail.
4.Using a toothpick paint the gaps white, following the pattern 'black,white,black,white.....
5. While the nail varnish is still wet peal off the tape using tweezers.
6. Add a top coat to seal your design and to add a shine.

Here is the finished result.

I am very pleased with how this nail art design has turned out. I did take a long time but from the results I believe it was worth it.
